I am so grateful that you’re taking steps to take control of your life. You will be amazed when we work together how much you’ll uncover about yourself. You’ll understand how your thoughts have contributed to your being overweight and you will take daily steps to put together a new plan of action for yourself. I imagine that you are tired of living like this and want some new, something better for yourself. I am here to help you and I know you can do it!

As an integrative body therapist, I work with energy and thought processes. With this in mind, we’re going to begin this lesson with a discussion on energy and how you attract excess weight.

Everything is made up of energy. The couch you’re sitting on, the table, even money is made up of energy. Our bodies are nothing but pure energy. Since everything is made up of energy, these things are affected by the Natural Laws of the Universe. These Laws are designed to manifest whatever we put our thoughts on. In simple terms, whatever you put your mind on, is what you’re going to get.

We’re going to look at one of the Natural Laws-the Law of Attraction. How does this apply to being overweight? When you hold negative thoughts in your body, symptoms appear based on those thoughts. In your case, you hold excess weight. You may be experiencing other symptoms as well, but your main focus right now is your weight. You hold negative thoughts in your body and this attracts excess weight. According to Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life, outlines weight issues in her book and anger is the driving force underneath the weight. It can be anything from anger at being denied love, anger at the parents or anger at one specific parent-often the father. In my case, I was angry at both parents, but more so my father.

Now, I’ll be giving you homework assignments because I like this to be interactive and have you contribute as well. So here’s your first homework assignment. It’s very simple. Identify who you’re angry with? You can include yourself. Once you’ve done this then describe why you’re angry with the person(s) you’ve identified and be specific.

We’ll be peeling back layers and these are simple steps to uncovering some layers. I will then address how you can release this anger so you can experience pure joy and love. In your case, especially of your body.

You are great just the way God intended you to be! You just need to peel back a few layers to reveal the wholeness that is already there. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey.

One of the easiest ways to focus on losing weight quickly is to drink lots of water. For instance, drinking about six to eight glasses of water every day will have an amazing therapeutic effect on your frame of mind.

This happens due to the responses in the body, which convert food we eat into get-up-and-go, functioning at optimum levels when well lubricated. Imagine this. A slim, toned person is spending a day at home and becomes aware that she is hungry. The tummy rumbles and she thinks “must eat”. The first edible thing she sees causes her to go into a very fast, light trance as she rapidly (split seconds) imagines eating it, and how that feels in her stomach, and how that reacts with her body. Her stomach will give her a “yes”, “no” or “maybe” feeling.

If it’s a strong “yes” she’ll probably just take that one and that’s the end of it. If it’s a “no” or “maybe” she’ll look at the next thing and once again go through that process of imagining eating it, and the consequences of that, and her stomach will give her that dependable gut reaction. What if there’s nothing there that her stomach says “yes” to?

Well she might move on to the pantry and do the same thing there, but if there’s nothing that her stomach says “yes” to, she might just decide to have nothing, and go back to what she was doing. She’ll make up for it later by eating something that is “worth it”. (More on the “worth it” concept later.)

This often comes up when people engage in one week or other weekly diets. Can you imagine feeling that way about food? To look at a chocolate, or bag of chips, or a huge bowl of pasta and to feel repelled if you’ve already eaten something like that recently? Can you imagine standing in front of your refrigerator or pantry mentally tasting the food and preferring to have nothing, than to have something that doesn’t “taste” right?

Can you imagine it being no big deal to walk away, thinking to yourself “I’ll have something better later” and for your mind to go immediately onto the next MORE INTERESTING thing you want to do? This is a life where food thoughts come up only when you’re hungry, or when you’re planning the shopping, or where you read a magazine and see a recipe that you think it might be nice to have some time. Natural Fast Weight Loss Secret #4 – Slim, Toned People Believe They Deserve Only Quality Food

You know, when you feel quite good about yourself, meaning that despite knowing that you’re about as flawed as every other human being, you nevertheless respect yourself and have a desire to treat yourself with the same consideration you treat others, it’s almost impossible to actually pick up a “rubbish” piece of food and put in your mouth.

This is the everyday experience of someone who is naturally slim and toned. So what gets in the way of YOUR having this experience also? What gets in the way is 3-fold: cravings (which can drive you to do things you’d rather not), emotions (such as eating because of boredom, or loneliness), and sometimes ignorance or a lack of deservedness around food (not actually knowing or realising that a particular “food” is not fit for human consumption).

This particular secret is about deservedness. Oftentimes I’ve begun to work with people who are overweight or even morbidly obese and the issue of self-esteem or self-respect has reared its head right from the start, and this is tied in very strongly to a sense of shame. I find this type of thinking especially popular in people looking for fast weekly diets. It can be quite a challenge to help my client to see that feeling ashamed of being overweight is about as illogical as feeling ashamed because he or she has chicken pox, or a cold.

And even more challenging to help them believe they have the right to exist without shame or guilt. Don’t get me wrong – it’s not that I believe that “big is beautiful” or even that fat is OK. No way! Overweight is crippling every health system in the civilized world! But overweight IS an “accident” or an “illness” that no-one develops deliberately, and therefore should NEVER be subject to guilt or shame. It is totally illogical to think that someone can “cure” their overweight by willpower and that they should be ashamed for not trying hard enough, for instance.

This is as insane as saying someone can cure their influenza by willpower. This type of thinking is counterproductive to naturally losing weight fast. In addition, guilt and shame are traumatic feelings that do a lot of damage, and can often lead to massive over-eating in an attempt to self-comfort. Often this happens in one week diets, and other weekly diets. Sadly, current government health initiatives, aimed at nagging people into more healthy lifestyles, and also dangerous shows like “The Biggest Loser”, have unleashed a TIDAL WAVE of guilt and shame that have led to not only more obesity, but also to a TIDAL WAVE of eating disorders amongst children, thousands of whom are dying of diseases like anorexia or bulimia.

Easy Tips to Losing Weight in The New Year

My friend asked me something startling last week. It was over lunch. Between bites of a cobb salad (minus the cheese, bacon and blue cheese… I wonder what Larry David would have to say about that), my friend asked me rather bluntly “You know, I’ve been trying to lose weight for six months now. Last week I even found myself reading an article on how to mix HCG, so tell me: how do you keep so thin?” I swear to you this is not me showing off. This completely shocked me because I don’t consider myself that thin. I’m not one of those people who likes to go “God, I’m so fat, look at me” just to get attention, but I also don’t consider myself thin. I’ve had many a weekends looking in the mirror going “god, I gotta lose some pounds”. I’m not fat or anything, I just don’t view myself as “thin”.

This got me to thinking though, if my friend considers me “thin”, then I must be doing something right on the weight front. I’m not one of those people who are like “watch what you eat, diet, exercise, repeat”. I’ve never really followed any kind of formula. I guess I’m more of a “just don’t do anything crazy” type of dieter.

Ok, let me explain my theory: Say you’re going to a fast food restaurant. The key is to not go crazy. You don’t have to get the salad with no dressing, if you want a hamburger just get the smallest hamburger on there. Most fast food places are most famous for their most basic burger, so why not try that? You can have a few fries, but only a few. Get a small or share with someone else. Also, as painful as it is, look at the nutrition facts, this way you can find ways to cut a few calories out here and there (my personal trick: cut out mayonnaise or other thick type sauces, they don’t usually bring much flavor to the game anyway).

The old adage is true, it’s all about moderation. Being full is a disgusting feeling anyway, so why would you push yourself past that point just because something tastes good? Why have four pieces of pizza and feel sick when you can have two and full satisfied. When it comes to exercise, well, I wish I did it more. When I do do it though, I try to keep it enjoyable by listening to good music. If you can pick the right pick of songs your workout routines feel much, much shorter.

These are just a few ideas. It’s not foolproof and frankly, you probably know more than you think. We all have tricks; (like knowing how to mix HCG) we just don’t think about them that often.

Understand How To Exercise To Lose Weight

Anyone who is serious about losing weight needs to understand that you must exercise to lose weight. Diet alone will not do it.

The question then is: What kind of exercise and how much?

It’s significant to understand that there are many health benefits from physical activity even if you do not lose weight. Imagine having less abdominal fat and lower blood pressure.

Through proper exercise you can improve the ratio of good blood fats to bad ones and can increase protection from heart disease and cardiovascular diseases.

In short with proper exercise you’ll feel better and increase your chances for a longer life. The weight loss is just another benefit!

An exercise program must be something that continues forever and not for just a few weeks or months. But don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you have to follow a rigid exercise plan and I constantly. It just means that it needs to be a consistent element in your life.

The challenge with weight loss exercising is:

- determining how much we need to do for weight loss purposes.

- arriving at the place where we truly enjoy physical weight loss activities.

There needs to be a certain level of intensity involved in the activity you are doing if you want to actually lose weight through exercising. Simply taking the dog out for a 30 minute walk isn’t going to do much good for weight loss purposes. It is better than doing nothing at all though.

You may have heard that walking 10,000 steps per day is a reasonable goal to shoot for. A good brisk walk of 30-60 minutes will accomplish that.

However to really lose weight through exercise you must do more than aerobic exercising. At some point you’ll need to add resistance training or some kind of weight lifting.

You actually burn 50 more calories per day with muscle than you do with fat. So you must begin to replace your body fat with muscle. You can only do that through some type of weight program.

You can even accomplish this without a home gym or weight set. Push ups are a great form of resistance training. Start slowly and gradually build to as many as you can do each day. Of course if you can go to a gym 3 days a week do it.

Making it fun is the best way to exercise to lose weight. Exercise with someone. Go dancing. Ride a bike. Play tennis. The more you do the better.

Lose Weight Today with strength and stretching exercises

Stretches of any kind are always good for your body but back stretches in particular will keep you supple and build core strength.

The exercises I am about to describe are easy to do and can all be done in the comfort and privacy of your own home. The only thing I would suggest buying if you do not have one is a comfortable yoga mat that will make it easier when the stretches hurt a little.

 

 Stretch One : The Bent Leg Lift

 

STEP 1: Place your mat down on the ground and whilst lying on your back bend your knees up at right angles so your feet will face upward. Reach down and hold onto your legs right behind your knees.

 STEP 2: Whilst holding firmly at the back of your knees pull them forward towards your chest. Go as far as you comfortably can without feeling pain.

 STEP 3: When your lower back is slightly bent hold for a short time about 5 seconds and then return to your starting position.

 

 

 Stretch Two: The Bridge Back

 

 STEP 1: Bend down and get onto your knees then bend forwards so that the palms of your hands are flat on the ground and in position lining up with your shoulders.

 STEP 2: Now relax and arch your back upwards whilst lifting your shoulders upward. Try to bring your abs in and let your head hand downward a little bit.

 STEP 3: Hold the position that you are in and count to 10 then repeat for as many repetitions as you can.

 

 Stretch Three: The imaginary push

 

STEP:1 Stand up very straight and reach up to the sky. Then extend your arms straight outward as far as you can stretch and connect the fingers on both on your hands together.

STEP 2: after connecting your fingers together turn your palms outward, push them forward, and stretch out. Imagine you are pushing a heavy object like a closing door away from your body and hold that tension.

STEP 3: When you begin feeling, the tension in both your back and your shoulders hold the push position for 60 seconds and then release. Obviously, you can repeat these exact steps for as many times as you feel comfortable.

 

 

 Stretch Four: The Swiss Ball Roll

 

This routine requires the purchase of a Swiss ball if you do not own one already. They are a terrific piece of equipment.

 

STEP: 1Place the large rubber Swiss ball in front of your body on the floor. Kneel behind the ball. Place your hands on the ball at the top of the balls curve whilst dropping your head down in front of the ball. Make sure you keep your back straight and your head up near the top of the ball.

STEP 2: Stretch your arms out and roll the ball forward just a little, as you roll the ball forward lower your head down towards the floor gradually. The stretch you will get along your upper back will be instant.

 

When you are beginning with the aim of building back strength the above routines should be done at least three times each week. The number of repetitions that you do will depend on how you feel after completing each routine and should be increased as your back strength increases.

 

There are literally hundreds of other back exercises after you have these ones down pat and I will write about the following ones over the next few weeks.
